The Choral Odyssey choirs


Founded in 2002, the Taichung Chamber Choir is a professional mixed choir from Taiwan is widely recognized as one of the leading performing arts groups in Taichung. It is currently listed as a member of the Taiwan Top Performing Arts Group by the National Culture and Arts Foundation.
The choir has received numerous accolades, including the 34th Golden Melody Awards for Traditional Arts and Music in the Best Vocal Performance category for Taiwanese Sonnets: Seven Chapters of Life. It also claimed first place at the Taoyuan Choral Arts Festival from 2019 to 2021, earned double championships in the Renaissance & Baroque and Contemporary categories at the 2019 Takarazuka International Chamber Chorus Contest in Japan, and swept the 2016 National Social Group Choral Competition with a triple crown in the women’s, men’s, and mixed-voice categories. In addition, the group was honored with the 3rd Taichung Golden Arts Award.
From 2022 to 2023, the choir served as the resident ensemble at Taichung City Zhongshan Hall, and from 2019 to 2022, they were responsible for the training and administrative execution of the Taichung National Theater Opera Choir. The ensemble was also featured at the 2016 Karuizawa International Choral Festival in Japan and served as image ambassadors for the opening campaign of the Taichung National Theater.
In 2013, the choir launched Chorus Taiwan, establishing seven affiliated ensembles to encourage broader participation in choral activities. With a mission to lead in the development of choral art, the group is dedicated to expressing the warmth and emotional depth of Taiwanese vocal music.

The Anderson Serangoon Junior College Choir is a vibrant ensemble of young adult singers from diverse backgrounds. Under the guidance of Ms Angela Lee, the Choir performs a wide repertoire ranging from classical masterpieces to contemporary pop arrangements. The Choir regularly participates in the biennial Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentations, in addition to holding its public concert in every alternate year. With its motto of “Simul Harmonia”, the Choir experience not only develops its members’ musical abilities but also fosters teamwork, discipline and leadership skills.

The Eunoia Junior College Choir is a group filled with love and passion, where choristers strive together toward the shared goal of making music. We believe in the transformative power of choral music to touch hearts, evoke emotions, and foster unity. EJChoir forms a harmonious ensemble that transcends boundaries and celebrates the beauty of diversity. Guided by our conductor, Ms. Lim Ai Hooi, we embark on a journey of artistic discovery, honing our skills and pushing the boundaries of musical expression. Our passion and teachable spirit drive us to continuously exceed the limits of what we can achieve as a choir.
From our humble beginnings, EJChoir has risen to great heights, achieving Distinction in both the 2023 and 2025 Singapore Youth Festivals. We also had the privilege of performing at the Esplanade Concert Hall for Limelight 2024. More recently, EJChoir attained Gold in the 2024 Singapore International Choral Festival and emerged as Category Champions in the mixed voice category for ages 19 and below. These remarkable accomplishments are a testament to the unwavering dedication and exceptional talent of our choristers.
We hope that audiences will be moved by the seamless blend of our voices in each heartfelt performance. With every note, EJChoir seeks to inspire, uplift, and create an unforgettable musical experience that resonates long after the final chord is struck.

The Hwa Chong Choir comprises passionate choristers from Hwa Chong Institution (College section). Under the baton of Ms Lim Ai Hooi, the choir has garnered top accolades both internationally and in Singapore. Some of these accolades include consecutive Gold with Honours awards at the biennial Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Central Judging of Choirs from 2005 to 2011, and the Certificate of Distinction at the SYF Arts Presentation from 2013 to 2019 and 2023 to 2025.
In 2008, the choir won two gold medals at the 5th World Choir Games in Graz, Austria and emerged Champion in the Mixed Choir category. The choir also garnered the Public Prize and Second Prize in the Free Programme category at the 39th Florilege Vocal de Tours in France in 2010. In the same year, Hwa Chong Choir bagged two gold medals and was also named Absolute Winner of the 38th Festival of Songs in Olomouc, Czech Republic. The choir also attained First Prize cum Laude at the 60th European Music Festival for Young People held in Neerpelt, Belgium, as well as Third Prize in the Fleischmann International Trophy Competition held in Cork, Ireland in 2012. Together with the Nanyang Girls’ High School choir, the combined choir won three gold medals at the 8th World Choir Games held in Riga, Latvia in 2014.
Not just a musical ensemble, the Hwa Chong Choir is also a family, where each member feels valued and embraced. Its story is a testament to the powerful bonds that form when choristers come together to create something beautiful.

Crescendo Voices was originally founded on 2 February 2002, comprising members from various high schools in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. The group went on hiatus for several years as many members pursued further studies and careers. In July 2024, Crescendo Voices was re-established in Singapore, this time primarily made up of alumni from the Foon Yew High School Choir.
Despite coming from diverse professional backgrounds, the members are united by a shared passion for choral singing. The choir is now conducted by Mr. Lee Pei Khoon, former conductor and advisor of the Foon Yew Choir, who leads its artistic direction.

The Singapore Symphony Children’s Choir (SSCC) offers young voices a thrilling gateway into the world of professional music-making. Singing alongside the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and renowned conductors, children discover not only the joy of performance but the discipline, confidence, and creativity that come with it.
Through its nurturing environment, the SSCC develops young children both musically and personally. It’s a space where artistry, friendship, and deep love for music come to life in every rehearsal and performance. Based at the Victoria Concert Hall, the choir has performed under the direction of esteemed conductors like Lim Yau, Sofi Jeannin, François-Xavier Roth, and Stephen Layton, and has shared the stage with The King’s Singers.
The SSCC’s impact extends beyond the concert hall, with appearances at national events and international collaborations in Paris and Kuala Lumpur, championing local music by commissioning works from Singaporean composers including Darius Lim, Zechariah Goh and Kelly Tang. Passionate, polished, and proudly Singaporean, the SSCC is shaping the next generation of choral excellence.

The Vox Camerata Chamber Singers is a vocal ensemble that has been pushing the boundaries of choral music in Singapore since 2015. This auditioned group of talented singers specializes in performing challenging art music and commissioned works, with a particular focus on showcasing compositions by local Singaporean composers.
The Chamber Singers serve as a unique platform for both singers and composers to hone their craft. For vocalists, membership requires not only exceptional vocal abilities but also the skill to learn music independently before rehearsals. This commitment to musical excellence is evident in their rigorous audition process, held twice a year, which includes performing a prepared piece, sight-reading, and an interview.

The Voices of Singapore (VOS) State Choirs represent the pinnacle of choral excellence within VOS, bringing together a distinguished array of ensembles that showcase the depth and diversity of the VOS Choral Society. Comprising the VOS Children's Choir, VOS Youth Choir, VOS Ladies Choir, VOS Men and VOS City Chorus, the State Choirs champion artistic excellence and cultural exchange through the universal language of music.
